Views from the Street

Or what I saw walking around.

Is there a Sam here? Works for Royal Fashions?
Anyone? Buelllller?

This is the infamous Bed Nightclub. It looks more impressive in the daytime. It’s also 10 minutes walking from Duker’s place. Did he plan that? The mind wobbles…

How about some REAL Red Bull? It’s more of a vitamin tonic here. It tastes like Red Bull that we have in the states, except flat. It ain’t carbonated. Also the logo looks a bit more fierce lah!

They do some real creative things with motorcycles here. Besides the tuk-tuks, you see stuff like this sometimes. I was tempted but realized that anything chocky will melt in like 3 minutes and since I’m a slow eater, I dun want to be chocky covered bug bait.
I’m already bug bait without being chocky covered! 14 bug bites on various parts of my legs, from ankles to hamstrings. The penalty for wearing shorts and not thinking about bug repellant. Shorts are comfy but you pay the price. If you decide to come to BKK and want to tour culturally significant places such as Wats and Temples and Royal Palaces, you gotta bring long pants (which I did) and shoes (which I did NOT).
Buddhist temples are a bit more accessible, seeing how they’re everywhere and part of malls and such. Here’s the famous 4 face Buddha, on the corner of a mall.

More construction that didn’t pan out, like in Johor.

But SOMEONE’s doing business there…

For my Singapore readers: There’s only one Citibank in the entire city. It’s appropriate that it’s directly across the street from the Singapore Embassy.

Nice.

Is this traffic? Or traffic calming? Or bad planning? Or all of the above? Who knows?
