Auto Club, they suck!

Today I brought my car to my friend’s shop for its overdue clutch job. His shop is in South San Francisco, about 16 miles as the crow flies or 23 on the sucky roads of San Francisco.

Now if you live in San Francisco, you understand how difficult it is to get around. I woke up at 0630 (on a Saturday!) and drove most of the way on the freeway (because you don’t have to shift as often as you do on city streets) and when I got off of the freeway, I decided to have AAA tow me in the rest of the way.
After all, that’s why you pay US$50 for Auto Club membership, right? Anyway, I call at 0804 and ask for a “tow truck” because the car kanna move.
A “TOW TRUCK”.
This factoid is important because at 0840, a “service vehicle” arrived. This, ladies and germs, is NOT a tow truck. A “service vehicle” is a truck that helps people who lock themselves out of their cars or need a jump or the spare tire put on. It is not a tow truck that can tow a car with a bum clutch to the shop.
So I’m back on the phone with AAA. They promise a tow truck within 20 minutes. 30 minutes pass. Then it’s supposed to be 10 more minutes. Then its another 20. Finally, when I’m on the phone with their supervisor, the truck arrives at 1000. That’s TWO HOURS people!
It was obviously a stalling tactic. And definitely not worth paying US$50 for excuses and an organization that has the accountability and integrity of the San Francisco city government…
These people suck!
